Faculty and Staff Flu Shots

All benefits-eligible employees and dependents covered on a Purdue health plan are eligible to receive the free flu vaccine. Regardless of location, individuals coming for a flu shot should bring their Purdue University ID (PUID) card.

Vaccines are available as follows:

The Center for Healthy Living (CHL)

1400 W. State St., Building B, Suite C

The CHL will be administering:

  • Fluzone quadrivalent vaccine, which is designed to protect against four different flu viruses; two influenza A viruses and two influenza B viruses. It is approved for anyone ages 6 months and older. 
  • Flublok quadrivalent vaccine, which is designed to protect against four different flu viruses; two influenza A viruses and two influenza B viruses. It is approved for use in ages 18 years and older. It is preservative and egg-free.

If an alternative vaccine type is needed, employees are encouraged to see their providers.

The CHL is providing flu shots to Purdue faculty, staff, covered adult dependents and minors as follows:

Drive-through flu shots

The CHL will offer drive-through flu shots on the south side of the center, with both morning and evening time slots available for added convenience. The CHL drive-through flu shot schedule is below:

September 27 7 to 9 a.m.
September 28 4 to 6 p.m.
October 4 7 to 9 a.m.
October 5 4 to 6 p.m.

CHL-hosted on-campus flu shot events

In addition, the CHL has on-campus flu shot events planned as follows: 

October 19 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Smalley West Conference Room
October 20 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Dining Room, 2550 Northwestern Ave, Suite 1100
October 25 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Stewart Center, Room 302

 

Walk-in flu shots at the CHL

The CHL also will offer flu vaccines at the center to benefits-eligible employees and dependents covered on a Purdue health plan on a walk-in basis beginning October 2. Patients can simply stop by to receive their flu shots; appointments are not required.

Purdue University Pharmacy (PUP)

575 Stadium Mall Dr.

PUP is administering:

  • Flucelvax Quadrivalent Pre-filled Syringe. It is a preservative-free, egg-free, latex-free product.

PUP is offering flu vaccines to Purdue faculty, staff and students:

Additional flu shot options

If employees are unable to make it to the CHL, PUP or a flu shot event on campus, there are other options:

  • Retail pharmacies
    Check with your retail pharmacy for flu shot availability. All Purdue medical plans cover the seasonal flu vaccine for employees and covered dependents.
  • Health care provider
    In most cases, primary care providers can administer flu shots. All Purdue medical plans cover the seasonal flu vaccine for employees and covered dependents.

October 4:  8 a.m. to noon CT via drive-through,  Hammond CHL (2250 173rd Street, Hammond, IN) – Directly across from the Fitness and Recreation Center (FRC)

October 5: 8 a.m. to noon CT, Schwarz Hall, Room 25 – Westville campus
