Leaves
Purdue Global (PG) administers all leaves of absence through the Human Resource office.
Leave of absence benefits are available to eligible employees facing difficult circumstances, including health related, personal and family matters. PG offers varied leave benefits such as:
- Family and Medical Leave (FML) - PG provides unpaid FML to eligible employees in accordance with the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and in accordance with state leave laws where applicable. See Family Medical Leave Policy
- Personal Leave - (PL) - PG may provide a Personal leave of absence for compelling personal (non-medical) reasons, or when an employee is unable to work due to a medical condition but is not eligible or exceeded the time allowed under the Family and Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”) or similar state-specific leave laws. See Personal Leave Policy
- Military Leave (ML) - PG is committed to supporting our employees who are also members of the armed forces. PG realizes the invaluable contribution these employees make to PG and to our nation. The company's Military Leave of Absence Policy is in compliance with and in addition to the provisions of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA). See Military Leave Policy
- Short Term Disability (STD) pay - Eligible employees who are unable to work due to their own illness or injury and who have been approved for an FML are eligible to utilize their employee-paid STD benefit for up to a maximum of 13 weeks in a rolling 12 month period. See Purdue University and Purdue Global's Short-Term Disability webpage.
- Long Term Disability (LTD) benefits - Before qualifying for an LTD benefit, you must first satisfy an elimination period – typically 13 weeks. LTD enables you to receive part of your income after meeting the elimination period, while you are unable to work due to a total, or in some cases a partial disability.
