There are a lot of factors that go into selecting the date for Fall Family Weekend. First, we look at the home football schedule, as we like being able to include a home football game into the weekend. Then, we look at weekends that will not conflict with a break. As a result, we have a limited number of fall weekends to select from.

For Spring Family Weekend, after 2025, dates will align with Purdue's Spring Fest.
Parent & Family Connections announced the dates for both Fall Family Weekend and Spring Family Weekend by early June. An email save the date will be sent to all families subscribed to our monthly newsletter, to families of admitted students, posts made to our Facebook page, and information was also be posted to the front page of the Parent & Family Connections website.
The 2025 Spring Family Weekend Website will launch in late February. An email will be sent to families subscribed to our monthly newsletter and posts will be made to our Facebook page. Information will also posted to the front page of the Parent & Family Connections website.

The University does not cancel classes during Family Weekend. If your student normally has classes on Friday and/or Saturday, then they will have classes on the Friday and/or Saturday of Family Weekend.

Registration for 2025 Spring Family Weekend will open in early March. Parents & Families Club members will be able to register for events prior to the general public. Prior to opening, an email will be sent to families subscribed to our monthly newsletter and posts will be made to our Facebook page. West Lafayette, Indiana is on Eastern Time (same as New York), and we do follow Daylight Saving Time.
Dress for the entire weekend is casual (typically any Purdue clothing is suitable). The weather varies, so please check the forecast.
Parent & Family Connections is not responsible for making hotel reservations and cannot assist with any issues related to lack of room availability. However, the Greater Lafayette Convention and Visitors Bureau maintain a referral list of available space at area lodging facilities for major weekends in the community. Visit their website or call (800)872-6648 or (765)447-9999.
We understand the selected dates for Family Weekend will not work for everyone, check out the Purdue Events website for campus happenings. The Greater Lafayette Convention and Visitors Bureau maintains a calendar of events happening throughout the year. The Visit Indy website can connect families to accommodations and events around the Indianapolis area.
A special link for early-access single-game tickets for Fall Family Weekend Football tickets is typically sent to families in early June, but can now be purchased through the Purdue Athletics website.
