Academic Success Ambassador
Academic Success Ambassadors (ASA) are a new position designed to help communicate and expand Academic Success initiatives for Purdue Indianapolis students. This role will engage with the campus community regarding available support, serve as a mentor to a growing student leader staff and a liaison to the Assistant Director for Academic Success, and fulfill the responsibilities of a peer coach for fellow students. ASA’s will assist in various office projects as needed throughout the semester, along with the recruitment and training of student leaders.

Responsibilities
Academic Success Ambassadors will be responsible for a variety of tasks including:
- Communicate with the campus community about the availability and utilization of academic resources.
- Assist in the recruitment, selection, and training of the student leader team.
- Collaborate on a student leader team to determine, implement, and grow academic success initiatives for Purdue Indianapolis.
- Serve as an ongoing mentor and point person for a small group of student leaders.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and attend semester trainings, supervisor check-ins, and team meetings.
- Staff various outreach activities and events to ensure academic success representation.
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate student with a minimum cumulative GPA of a 3.0
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Comfortable with and excited about talking with students, parents, and campus partners.
- Willingness to collaborate, present new ideas, take ownership of projects, and accept feedback.
- Proactive and independent worker with a positive attitude.
- Understanding that this is a new position that will be defined together as a team.
Commitment and Compensation
- Ability to work 4 to 6 hours per week, with the understanding that some weeks may fluctuate.
- Wage of $16/hour
