Black Thought Collective
The Black Thought Collective (BTC) is a student ensemble whose goal is to broaden and enhance the educational experience of involved students through the knowledge sharing from an Afrocentric perspective. The group is guided by a professional scholar-in-residence who leads programming and designs the curriculum.
BTC identifies and attains its initiatives through committee action. The Black Thought in the Media committee focuses on current events particularly publicized through local, national and international media. The Past to Present Committee conducts research on black history and culture utilizing the BCC library and other campus resources. The Awareness Movement Committee focuses on actions to better educate Purdue students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community about black history, black culture and black thought.
