Incoming Student Scholarships

Scholarships for incoming Exploratory Studies freshmen ONLY:

Grace Freshman Scholar Award

This scholarship recognizes the outstanding academic achievement and strong extracurricular and community involvement of an incoming Exploratory Studies student. Special emphasis is placed on the leadership roles the student has had both in school and in the community.

  • Awarded to an incoming first-year Exploratory student.  No application required.  Students will be contacted if they are offered this award. 
  • Minimum SAT of 1360 (1920 on old SAT), ACT composite of 28, or National Merit finalist
  • Firm Deadline - Complete admission application must be on file in the Office of Admissions by November 1
  • Total award of up to $2,000 (non-renewable)
  • Recipient will be notified in February 2025

Carolyn T. Jones Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes the outstanding academic achievement and strong involvement and leadership of an incoming Exploratory Studies student. This scholarship has a need-based component and awarded to a student with financial need.

  • Awarded to an incoming first-year Exploratory student.  No application required.  Students will be contacted if they are offered this award. 
  • Minimum 3.7 GPA
  • Must be an Indiana resident
  • Firm Deadline - Complete admission application must be on file in the Office of Admissions by November 1
  • Total award of $4,000: $2,000 awarded first year and $2,000 awarded second year.  Student must maintain 3.0 cumulative GPA with demonstrated campus or community involvement.
  • Recipient(s) will be notified in late March 2025

Purdue Federal Credit Union (PFCU) Citizenship Awards

This one-time, $1,000 scholarship recognizes outstanding community involvement and strong academic achievement of an incoming Exploratory Studies student. Special emphasis is placed on good citizenship, and how active the student has been in their school and home community.

The Online PFCU Scholarship Application will require you to write a short essay outlining your civic engagement, and provide a letter of recommendation from someone who can speak to the impact of your community involvement.

A link to the Online PFCU Scholarship Application will be available here in early 2025, along with the deadline for submitting the application. The recipient(s) will be notified in late February, 2025.
