Resource Hours Fall 2025

The LCC teams up with departments, student organizations and partners across campus to host resources in-house. All Purdue University students are welcome to use these resources. There is no cost to participate, and no appointment is needed. 

Ponte las Pilas: Graduate Student Series

Graduate students are invited to Join the Latinx Graduate Student Organization and LCC Graduate Assistant, for quiet study hours whether you're working on a publication, dissertation, thesis or class assignment. We will help keep you on track. Food available. No RSVP needed. No need to stay the entire time.

    • Keys to Consent. Discussing the RedZone, what it is, how to talk about it, what to be aware of.
  • September 16th: Vision Boards 
    • Envisioning a Healthy Future. Discussing healthy goal setting, how sometimes goals can get sidetracked by life circumstances, and how to handle that.

Escribir y Chill: Purdue OWL Writing Support

3-4 PM, @ LCC Maricela Alvarado Lounge

Writing is key to every discipline. Stop by the Purdue OWL hours at the LCC to get support in beginning a project, reviewing a draft and improving your thought process, organization and writing skills. 
  • September 16th: Lunch & Learn Intro to PurdueOWL

  • October 21st: Breaking Through Writer’s Block 
    • Understanding and overcoming the emotional and cognitive barriers to writing
  • October 28th: Receive Feedback on Your Writing in English & Spanish
  • November 11th: How to Revise and Edit Like a Pro 
    • Clarify the revision process beyond correcting grammar and spelling mistakes (considering main ideas, text organization, clarity, and flow)
  • November 18th: Open drop in hour
  • December 2nd: Giving Feedback that Helps (and Doesn’t Hurt)
    • Learning to respond to writing constructively and effectively.

Plática con Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS):

All students are welcome to drop in to speak to the LCC Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) liaison. This is an informal session to check in on how the semester is going and to see how CAPS can further support you. This is open to all Purdue University students.

Spanish Conversation Tables

Purdue University and Greater Lafayette community members are invited to practice their Spanish conversation skills with Heritage Spanish Speaker Silvana. No quizzes or tests, just fun speaking Spanish!

    • Carry the Conversation. November is Men's Health Engagement Month so some of the conversation could be centered around this, especially if we have male-identifying individuals that participate. Otherwise, the conversation can also just surround general topics such as healthy boundaries, relationships, consent, self-care, etc.

  • November 13th: Design-Your-Own Puzzles
    • Piecing Together Healthy Relationships. Discussing healthy relationships, red/yellow/green flags, boundaries, etc.
