Jazmine Clifton

Director

Jazmine Clifton (she/her) currently serves as the Director of the Purdue Promise program. She was born in New Mexico, but attended Arizona State University, receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Wellness. She received her Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Florida International University. Through experiences with AVID and TRiO, she has developed a passion for working with student access and success programs involving mentorship, shared experiences, and personal development. Jazmine serves as the Advisor for three NPHC organizations, the First-Generation Student organization, and is a Faculty Fellow. She enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, dancing, reading, volunteering, playing with puppies, and eating delicious foods!

  

 

Summer Bowman

Senior Assistant Director

Summer Bowman (she/her) serves as the Senior Assistant Director of the Purdue Promise program. She holds a Master of Business Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Business with majors in Management and Marketing, a minor in Psychology, and a Certificate in Intercultural Competence from Indiana University. Summer is a certified practitioner of the Strong Interest Inventory Career Assessment, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Personality Assessment, and is working towards becoming a certified practitioner of the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Management Assessment. Before joining the Purdue Promise program in September 2023, Summer served as the Lead Academic Advisor at Indiana University Columbus for three and a half years, after serving as Academic Advisor for the Business program for six years. She also taught First-Year Seminar classes every fall semester since 2014. In her previous roles, Summer found working with diverse student populations rewarding. Summer realized her passion for working with students after serving as a Student Office Assistant for the Business program and Student Ambassador in the Office of Admissions while earning her undergraduate degree. Prior to working in higher education, Summer spent several years managing business operations and supervising and developing employees in the service industry. Summer is originally from Seymour, Indiana. She enjoys puzzles, spending time with family, traveling with her husband, and playing with her Chinchilla, Chewy.

 

  

quinton skibinski

Quinton Skibinski (he/him) is a Purdue Alumni. He was born and raised in West Lafayette, IN, and has always had a love for Purdue University.  A third-generation Boilermaker, he is a “townie” through and through. Quinton graduated with a bachelor's in Organizational Leadership and Supervision and a certificate in Entrepreneurship.  After graduation, he went to work for Purdue Federal Credit Union to both help the community and further his knowledge in both the personal and business financial arenas. In 2024, he earned a master's in Higher Education with a focus on Student Affairs while working with Purdue Promise. Through experiences helping people, Quinton got enjoyment advising and helping people first hand and being able to tailor personal plans for every individual that walked through the door. Aside from work, Quinton enjoys working out, playing video games and board games with friends, going on adventures, watching anything Marvel, cooking/baking, and spending time with his wife.

katelyn jackson

Katelyn Jackson (she/her) serves as an Assistant Director for the Purdue Promise program. She was born and raised in a small town near Lafayette. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Ball State University in 2015 and her Master's in Higher Education from Purdue Global in 2025. Prior to coming to Purdue, she taught 2nd grade for eight years. She had an incredible time learning and growing with her students and loved pursuing her passion for education and helping others. Outside of work, Katelyn enjoys reading, exercising, going on walks with her husband and dogs, and rewatching Harry Potter for the millionth time.

Martina mcQuay

Student Success Coach

Martina McQuay (she/her) currently serves as a Student Success Coach for the Purdue Promise Program. Martina brings a deep passion for student development, empowerment, and access. A Lafayette native and proud Purdue alum, she holds a B.S. in Human Services with a minor in Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies. Before stepping into higher education, Martina gained valuable experience across nonprofit organizations, state programs, and local agencies. These roles strengthened her understanding of people and systems and shaped her student-centered approach rooted in empathy, energy, and accountability. A former collegiate athlete, Martina values resilience, growth, and authentic connection. She is especially driven to uplift students from all backgrounds and help them build confidence and purpose throughout their academic journeys. Martina finds deep fulfillment in helping students grow as leaders and trust in their unique voice, supporting not only their academic success but also their personal development. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, working out, listening to music and podcasts, exploring new places, and finding joy in good food and spontaneous adventures.

 

 

Desmine Robinson

Desmine (Des-men) Robinson (he/him) joined Purdue Promise as a Student Success Coach in April 2024. He was born in Tuscaloosa Alabama and lived most of his life in Downriver Michigan. Proudly a 2x first-generation student, Desmine earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (2020) and Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Higher Education Student Affairs with an Academic Advising certificate (2022) from Eastern Michigan University. Most of Desmine's experience is in pre-college and helping underrepresented students transition through college. Outside of work, Desmine enjoys reading, writing, poetry, karaoke, RuPaul's Drag Race, making beats, exercising, dancing, movies, and anime. 

 

 

Jay Snedeker

Jay Snedeker (He/Him) joined Purdue Promise as a Student Success Coach in April 2024. Jay is a proud 1st generation college graduate and a Purdue University alum. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Developmental and Family Science and a Minor in Spanish. He grew up in a small town near our campus named Pine Village. Before returning to his alma mater, he worked for 4.5 years as a Community-Based Mental Health Professional and several years as a Spanish Medical Interpreter. During his time at Purdue, he was involved on campus and in the community through being an Exploratory Studies Ambassador, a BGR Team Leader, and a member of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club. He also studied abroad several times during his 4 years of undergrad. Jay speaks multiple languages and has a passion for learning. He is passionate about people and strives every day to make a positive difference. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with friends and loved ones, studying, working out, singing, traveling, and going on adventures.

Jamie Jones (she/her) is a Student Success Coach with the Purdue Promise Program. As a first-generation Boilermaker, Jamie holds bachelor’s degrees in English Literature and Psychological Sciences and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Higher Education. Jamie is passionate about student success and dedicated to empowering first-generation college students to cultivate confidence and thrive in their academic pursuits. Outside of work, Jamie enjoys reading, road trips, and spending time with family and friends.

 

 

 

 

 

Melissa Maggard

Melissa Maggard (she/her) joined Purdue Promise as a Student Success Coach in August 2024. Melissa graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Capella University and is pursuing her Master's in Human Services. Melissa has worked in the human services field as an ABA Therapist, as a Case Manager/Skills Trainer at a local community mental health center, and as an Adoption Recruiter at a non-profit. When Melissa is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, son, and two cats. In her free time, Melissa enjoys reading, thrifting, baking, and taking care of her indoor houseplants.

 Julie Caldwell (she/her) is a Student Success Coach with the Purdue Promise Program. Born and raised in Indiana, Julie is a proud first-generation college graduate. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management and a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education, both from Taylor University. Julie has worked at other universities in residence life, student activities, and, most recently, career development. Julie enjoys helping students learn more about themselves, their identity, and who they want to be in the world as they prepare for life after college. Outside of work, Julie enjoys reading, building Legos, listening to music, traveling, exploring new places, and sharing meals with family and friends.

 Grace Thompson (she/her) joined Purdue Promise as a Student Success Coach in December 2025. She obtained her bachelor's degree in social work from Indiana University and her master's degree in social work from IUPUI. During her master's program, she specialized in school-based social work to continue her love of working with students from diverse backgrounds. Before joining Purdue Promise, Grace worked as an advisor at the John Martinson Honors College, an Extension Educator for Purdue Extension, and a school-based therapist for a community health organization. Outside of work, Grace enjoys reading, Taylor Swift, playing video and board games with friends, watching movies with her husband, and spending time with her cats and her dogs, Pickle and Cosmo.

 

 

 

Daylon barton

Daylon Barton joined the Purdue Promise Program in December 2025. He is a first-generation college graduate and proud Purdue Promise alumnus, earning his degree in Sociology in 2022. For the past four years, Daylon has worked as a 21st Century Scholars Success Coach and is deeply committed to supporting students with backgrounds and experiences similar to his own. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer with friends, gaming, and binge-watching his favorite TV shows.
