Undergraduate Proposal Review Timelines

All proposals follow a four-step workflow: Proposal Development, Home College Steps, Curriculog Workflow, and Implementation. The following content reflects the Curriculog Workflow. It does not account for home college steps.

Proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis once they enter the Purdue West Lafayette workflow. Time to complete indicates the typical completion timeframe from proposal launch to completion in workflow. Unit and/or college curriculum committee reviews and other college steps are not reflected below because of the unique nature of college workflows.

Please see the Registrar’s Office website for more detailed Catalog and Proposal timelines.

Non-College Reviewer Summary & Key Planning Considerations

  • Undergraduate Educational Affairs Countil (UEAC): The UEAC meets monthly, except in July.
  • Board of Trustees (BOT): The Purdue Board of Trustees meets six times a year: February, April, June, August, October, and December. Anticipate 60-90 days for agenda and review.
  • Academic Affairs & Quality Committee of the Indiana Commission for Higher Education (AAQ-ICHE): The Academic Affairs & Quality Committee of the Indiana Commission for Higher Education meets monthly, except December. AAQ-ICHE approves routine actions to approved programs in the Academic Program Inventory. Staff actions typically take 15-30 days to complete. The AAQ-subcommittee reviews all New Degrees prior to consideration by ICHE.
  • Indiana Commission for Higher Education (ICHE): The full Indiana Commission for Higher Education meets six times a year: January, March, May, July, September, and November. New Degrees must first be reviewed by the AAQ-ICHE sub-committee. Anticipate 60-90 days for agenda and review.
  • Higher Learning Commission (HLC): Screenings by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) to determine if any additional approvals may be required (uncommon).
