Purdue AAARCC Speaker Series: Dr. Cris Liban (Chief Sustainability Officer, LA Metro) and JP Liban

Join us on Monday, April 4th to hear from Dr. Cris Liban (Chief Sustainability Officer, LA Metro) and JP Liban (Environmental & Ecological Engineering Graduate Student, Purdue University) speak on the topic, "Sustainability and Asian American Identities: Infrastructure as a Bridge to Opportunities" 

Dr. Cris B. Liban, P.E. is the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (LA Metro) Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO). Dr. Liban oversees LA Metro’s internationally recognized Environmental, Sustainability, and Energy initiatives. Dr. Liban currently serves as the Vice-President of the City of Los Angeles Board of Transportation Commissioners and Chair of the Los Angeles County Beach Commission. He was the former Chair of the American Society of Civil Engineers National Committee on Sustainability, and was the recipient of the 2020 Engineering News Record (ENR) Award of Excellence for his work on environmental science, climate science, and environmental equity.

Jean Paul Gerard Liban is a Master’s student studying Environmental and Ecological Engineering originally from Los Angeles, CA. He is a recent graduate of Purdue, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in the same program in 2021. JP is a Graduate Student Staff at Purdue Asian American and Asian Resource and Cultural Center and current Senior Advisor for the Purdue Filipino Association.
