Fidelity retirement account consolidation event series begins in October

Purdue University, in conjunction with Fidelity Investments, is excited to announce the launch of a Consolidation Event Series that will begin in October with activities through the end of the year.

If you have a retirement account balance with a previous employer or legacy Purdue retirement plan provider (plans prior to 2011), you may be paying more in administrative and investment fees than necessary. Keeping your information up to date across multiple platforms can also be a challenge.

Consolidating those older retirement accounts into your Purdue Retirement Program can provide the benefits of a more inclusive view of your savings for retirement, mean receiving fewer retirement account statements from various providers, and offer one location to maintain your information while providing access to a variety of retirement planning tools and resources.

Throughout the retirement account consolidation series, Fidelity representatives will be available to help you evaluate your options and see if consolidation could be right for you. Fidelity representatives will also help with guidance through the consolidation process from obtaining the appropriate paperwork all the way through the transfer process.

To help expedite the process, please plan to gather account numbers and official statements of all accounts you would like to consolidate.

In addition to reviewing for consolidation opportunities, you may also want to take this time to confirm your information is accurate with your retirement plan providers and Purdue, including your home mailing address, contact information and beneficiary records.
