Limited Term Lecturers and Lecturers require following the offer letter templates outlined on the Provost website. They do not route to the Provost for approval. However, they do require department head and fiscal approval. Review the following resources. Contact careers@purdue.edu when further guidance is needed.
Complete requisition details and internal, external, public or private postings. Follow Create and Post Requisition outlined (as step 2) in the Quick Reference Guide. Instructions include how to include others to review or approve the requisition. Select Post Doc/LTL/Temps Requisition Template if not auto-populated.
You must post Lecturer and Limited Term Lecturer jobs to the 'Lecturer' category. Please do not post to the WL Faculty category.
Manage candidates through talent pipeline
Review resumes, organize candidate pool, move desired candidates through pipeline for interviewing and final selection. Move final candidate to Offer.
Department Head and others agree on final candidate.

Prepare Offer Letter
The Offer Letter is created using the template available on Provost website or the SuccessFactors offer letter template.
The offer letter is reviewed with and approved by the budget approver (DFA/business manager) and Department Head. Some colleges route to the Dean for approval as well – your business manager or DFA will know if Dean approval is required.
Offer can be routed electronically for final candidate approval.

Move Candidate through the final steps in the talent pipeline – background and ready to be hired
Follow the section on "Move Candidate to Background Check" in the following Quick Reference Guide.
Talent Acquisition will contact you when the background check is complete and the candidate can be moved to Ready to Hire.
Move Candidate to onboarding; close out requisition
Initiate Onboarding and complete Post-Hire Data Verification.

Post Doc
Post Docs follow a similar process as the Limited Term Lecturers. They do not route to the Provost for approval. However, they do require department head and fiscal approval. Review the following resources.
Hiring supervisors or department administrative positions complete the quick hire process in SuccessFactors for Limited Lecturer and Post Doc positions. Hiring for these positions does not require department head approval. Please connect with your Director of Financial Affairs or Employment Center to understand your college or unit-specific approval requirements for the requisition and offer letter.
