- Boiler Cold Rush 2026 dates will be announced in mid- October 2025.
- Registration for Boiler Cold Rush is expected to open in October 2025.
- It is recommended that students move into the residence halls one day prior to Boiler Cold Rush.
Registering for Boiler Cold Rush
Register for Boiler Cold Rush via the myPurdue portal. After registering for Boiler Cold Rush, your student account will be billed for the program fee of $150.
Registration information for Boiler Cold Rush 2026 will be released in October 2025. Only students who have accepted their offer of admission to Purdue will be able to submit their Boiler Cold Rush registration. Students who are admitted to the University after January 2nd may request an exception to participate by emailing studentsuccess@purdue.edu
Program Cost
If you are participating in Boiler Cold Rush in person, your student account will be billed for the in-person program fee of $150.
The Boiler Cold Rush fee will be posted to student accounts in early January. The student account can be accessed by going to the myPurdue Portal and clicking on the “Bills & Payment” tab.
Paying for Boiler Cold Rush
Boiler Cold Rush fees will display on recipients' student billing accounts. Both the fee and fee waiver (if awarded) will display on the myPurdue Portal, on the “Bills and Payments” tab. Fees for the spring semester will be visible in early December, and due in mid-January.
Waivers and Scholarships - Timeline
A limited number of need-based waivers are available to cover all or part of your registration fee. The link to the Boiler Cold Rush Fee Waiver Application, and details on how to apply, can be found on the New Student Task List when a student accepts their offer to Purdue University. Students applying for the fee waiver must register for Boiler Cold Rush for their application to be fully considered.
Please consider the many dates in the timeline for this process:
- Mid-October – Boiler Cold Rush Fee Waiver applications open
- Late November – Select Boiler Cold Rush Fee Waiver decisions begin
- December– Most Boiler Cold Rush Fee Waiver decisions begin on a rolling basis
- January – Boiler Cold Rush Fee Waiver applications close

Refunds
You must cancel your Boiler Cold Rush registration to generate the refund or fee remission (in accordance with these dates). The refund schedule will be available in October 2025.
Students With Disabilities
We would encourage students with disabilities to contact us as soon as possible so that we may develop plans with you to provide access. Please contact the Disability Resource Center (DRC) before Boiler Cold Rush begins at 765-494-1247 or email drc@purdue.edu and identify that you are participating in Boiler Cold Rush. If during your Boiler Cold Rush experience you discover an unforeseen barrier to your participation, please alert your team leader. We take accessibility seriously and welcome your input.
Food Allergies at Boiler Cold Rush
Campus Dining Courts take food allergies into consideration and individuals are encouraged to contact a trained dining administrator with questions at allergicboiler@purdue.edu. Individuals can also refer to the NetNutrition website to identify allergens in dining court foods. Lodging at Purdue
There are several options for students and families who decide to stay overnight. For information about on-campus accommodations, please contact Purdue's Union Club Hotel to check room availability during on-campus orientation events. As a reminder, Purdue is on the Eastern Time Zone.
Local Hotel Listings Greater Lafayette Visitor's BureauTransportation to Purdue
Air Travel: The nearest commercial airports are Indianapolis International (65 miles), Chicago O’Hare (140 miles) and Chicago Midway (130 miles). The Purdue Airport accommodates privately owned planes.
Airport Shuttles: Shuttle service is provided to and from Indianapolis by Lafayette Limo and Reindeer Shuttle. Shuttle service to and from Chicago O’Hare is provided by Express Air Coach, Lafayette Limo, and Reindeer Shuttle.
Other Commercial Travel: Amtrak and Greyhound also serve the area, stopping at a station in Lafayette. From there, visitors can ride Greater Lafayette's CityBus system to Purdue (about 1.5 miles).
