Complete the Student Information Form (SIF)

To fully complete the Purdue 101 online component, you must fill out the Student Information Form (SIF) at the end of the Brightspace course. This will let your academic advisor know you are ready to meet with them. Students should receive an email to their Purdue email account notifying them that they have successfully completed the SIF. Students should reach out to advising@purdue.edu with any questions.

Purdue Advising

Academic advising timeline varies by academic college. Your academic advisor will send an email to your Purdue account to set up a time for your virtual advising appointment. Please continue to check your email regularly. Students are highly encouraged to meet with their academic advisor as soon as possible after finishing the online Purdue 101 course and the SIF.

Schedule an appointment with your

Academic Advisor

A few days after you submit your Student Information Form (SIF), your academic advisor will send an email with directions on how to schedule your first advising appointment. Be on the lookout for that message in your Purdue email account. Most students can expect to hear from their advisor within a week of completing their SIF. If you do not hear from your advisor within one week, please email advising@purdue.edu to notify them.

Meet with your

Academic Advisor

Meeting with your advisor is an important step in your Boilermaker journey. One of the things you will do in this appointment is talk through course options and how to register for your first semester of classes. Your Purdue 101 module will help prepare you for this meeting.

Your academic advisor will provide more information to you about completing your Course Request Form (CRF), which is the final step you will take to register for your courses.

Purdue 102
