| Dear Boilermaker,
You now have access to your online orientation program — called Purdue 101. Purdue 101 is the first step of your All Aboard Purdue orientation experience, and is required for all incoming students. Students beginning classes in the spring must complete Purdue 101, which includes filling out your Student Information Form (SIF), by December 8. Completing this step lets us know that you're ready to meet with an academic advisor. You must complete Purdue 101 before you can move on to Step 2 of your Purdue orientation, Purdue Advising. Academic advising timelines vary by academic college. After you've completed Purdue 101, your academic advisor will send you an email to set up a time for your virtual advising appointment, so please continue to check your Purdue email regularly. Students are highly encouraged to finish Purdue 101 and meet with their academic advisor as soon as possible. For more information, review our program dates and deadlines.
How do I access Purdue 101?
You'll use Purdue’s Brightspace learning management system to complete the Purdue 101 modules. Select the “Purdue West Lafayette/ Indianapolis” option and log in with your Purdue career account. Brightspace can also be accessed through the Pulse App, which can be downloaded in the App Store or Google Play.
If you need help logging in to Purdue systems, or general Purdue IT help, please visit Purdue IT's New to Purdue page, or call Purdue IT at (765) 494-4000. Continue to make progress on your New Student Task List, which resides in your myPurdue student portal. Your task list contains a variety of important announcements and to-do items that you'll need to complete before classes begin. For example, make sure to upload a photo for your Purdue mobile ID. It is important to check your task list regularly, as new items will appear in the weeks leading up to your first semester.
How will I transition to campus in January?
The final step in Purdue's orientation process is your Purdue Welcome program! Registration is now available for Boiler Cold Rush (BCR), your new student orientation which takes place the weekend before spring classes begin. Registration information is included in the New Student Task List at the top of your myPurdue portal. After registering for BCR, your student account will be billed for the program fee of $150. If cost is a concern for you, there are a limited number of need-based waivers are available to cover all or part of your registration fee. To apply for the fee waiver you must first register for BCR. The fee waiver can also be found in your New Student Task List. Please note: the fee waiver link opens for BCR participants 48 hours after registration has been completed.
BCR programming takes place Jan. 9-10, 2026.
Move-in will occur on Jan. 8 for BCR participants living on campus with University Residences. If you'll be living off-campus, we encourage you to arrive on Jan. 8 so you're here before the start of the program.
