State Benefits
Applications for state aid managed by the state of Indiana can be found on the ScholarTrack website. Additionally, correct and complete filing of a students FAFSA is important for the success of this application. All questions related to state aid can be directed towards the Department of Financial Aid, facontact@purdue.edu
How do I receive these benefits?
- You must have filed a completed FAFSA by March 10 prior to the year you wish to attend college.
- You can apply and/or check your eligibility on the State Financial Aid website by logging into your student account at ScholarTrack.In.gov
- When your benefit is approved, please communicate with Purdue University’s Division of Financial Aid.
- State Sponsored Military Aid may not reflect on your bursar bill before the first due date. If this occurs, the Division of Financial Aid will work with the Office of the Bursar to place a code on your account to ensure you don't receive a late payment fee at the fifth week of the term.
National Guard Supplemental Grant
The National Guard Supplement Grant (NGSG) guarantees 100% of tuition and regularly assessed fees at a public Indiana institution for eligible members of the Indiana Air and Army National Guard. The NGSG covers only certain tuition charges and does not cover other expenses such as room and board or textbooks. Students can attend either full time or part time.
Indiana National Guard Extension Scholarship
The Indiana National Guard Scholarship Extension Program is a limited scholarship that provides 100% of tuition and regularly assessed to former National Guard members who left the Guard under honorable discharge conditions, used the Indiana National Guard Supplement Grant in the past, and who served on active duty overseas since September 10, 2001. Students can attend either full time or part time. Former Guardsmen who believe they may qualify for this program can review the application and rules at ScholarTrack.IN.gov or contact:

Children and Spouse of Indiana National Guard
The Commission offers a supplement to other state grants by guaranteeing 100% of tuition and regularly assessed fees for students who are the child or spouse of a member of the Indiana National Guard who suffered a service connected death while serving on state active duty.

The Tuition and Fee Exemption for Children of Disabled Veterans provides up to 100% of tuition and regularly assessed fees for up to 124 semester credit-hours at Indiana public colleges and universities at the undergraduate resident tuition rate. The biological or legally adopted children of disabled Indiana veterans might be eligible to receive this benefit.

A person who entered active duty from a permanent home address in Indiana, received the Purple Heart Medal and received any discharge or separation from the armed forces other than a dishonorable discharge might be eligible to have the resident tuition rate at an Indiana state supported college or university funded.

The Tuition and Fee Exemption for Children of Purple Heart Recipients provides up to 100% of tuition and regularly assessed fees for up to 124 semester credit-hours at Indiana public colleges and universities at the undergraduate resident tuition rate. The biological or adopted child of a person who received the Purple Heart decoration or was wounded as a result of enemy action might be eligible to receive this benefit.
