BI Governance
Business Intelligence at Purdue involves faculty and staff from many different units across the campuses. In order to be successful, these efforts must be a collaborative undertaking rather than fragmented and disconnected. To that end, a formalized governance approach is one of the ways we are ensuring that there is broad input into strategies and projects, and building shared commitment around a focused set of priorities for Business Intelligence.
There are several different groups involved in governance of enterprise Business Intelligence initiatives, as illustrated in the diagram below.
Interaction with Other Governance Groups
Business Intelligence efforts also need to be connected to and aligned with IT work in the Student Systems and Business Systems areas which make up our larger BI Community. Overlap with members sitting on more than one Governance committee helps facilitate cross-communication of shared interests and priorities.
