Since its origins, Plaksha University has enjoyed an ongoing partnership with Purdue University. Plaksha's partnership page includes the photos of many familiar faces from Purdue's College of Engineering.

CILMAR's partnership with Plaksha's Centre for Thinking, Language & Communication (CTLC) was created initially through introductions by a colleague in Purdue's American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and nurtured through relationship-building in visits to one another's campuses in India and the United States. CILMAR has enjoyed several visits from Dr. Brainerd Prince, Director, CTLC, and Associate Professor, Plaksha University. CILMAR's partnership with Plaksha is part of the Purdue-India Partnership.

In Spring 2024, CILMAR's director Kris Acheson-Clair and intercultural research specialist Aparajita Jaiswal had the opportunity to visit the Plaksha campus and to facilitate intercultural learning with several different audiences, including faculty, staff and students. The metrics of success for this trip include the micro credential was issued to 90 students who attended a four-hour long weekend workshop based on Purdue Intercultural Module (PIM) on intercultural communication and teamwork.

  2. Curriculum development, e.g., communication modules for Purdue engineering students
  3. Program development, e.g., collaborating to offer a Global Communication Competencies certificate for students across India
  4. Joint consulting, e.g., supporting intercultural communication and agility for international companies operating in the US
