Global Partnerships and Programs is pleased to announce the International Short-Term Visitor Grants. These grants are designed to bring distinguished visitors to Purdue University. GPP will provide up to $3,000 for events such as conferences, workshops, lectures, or performances for the purpose of fostering global learning, research, and/or engagement in alignment with Purdue’s internationalization goals.
Grant Details
- Grant Amount: Up to $3,000.
- Purpose: To bring distinguished visitors to Purdue University for events such as conferences, workshops, lectures, or performances for the purpose of fostering global learning, research, and/or engagement in alignment with Purdue’s internationalization goals. Distinguished visitors may include faculty and staff from partner or emerging partner institutions, research scientists, and other notable guests. Up to two visitors may be invited per application, with total funding limited to $3,000. Honoraria not included and cost-share is encouraged.
- Application Deadline: Rolling submissions until grant funds have been expended for the year.
Eligibility
- Applicants: All full-time Purdue University West Lafayette and Indianapolis staff. Note: Staff does not include graduate assistants for this purpose. Only one application per potential visit may be submitted and a maximum of one award per academic year may be granted.
Proposal Submission:
- Submit Application: Complete the International Short-Term Visitor Grant Application Form.
- Required Documents: Include the following with your application:
- Proposal Narrative: Details regarding the need for, objectives of, and expected outcomes of the visit. Provide additional details regarding the distinguished visitor and reasoning for the selection of this guest.
- Budget: Present an overview of expected expenses (travel, accommodation, meals, consultation fees). Cost-share is highly encouraged but not required. If the grant funds are insufficient to cover the cost of the visit, please explain how the remaining costs will be covered. Note that, in most cases, funds will be transferred to the applicant's account upon confirmation of the activity's commencement and must be administered by the applicant/his or her business office.
- Letter of Institutional Support on behalf of a department head, center director, or dean.
Submission Deadline:
- At least two months prior to the visit.
Review Process:
- Evaluation Criteria: Proposals will be evaluated based on the potential impact of the program, feasibility of the event, clarity of objectives, and alignment with Purdue’s internationalization goals. Applications should outline any community partners/universities that will be engaged and expected outcomes.
- Decision Notification: Applicants will typically be notified of award decisions within two weeks of application submission.
Award Expectations:
- Visit: Conduct the visit within six months from the date of application.
