International Scholar Services will be closed in observance of Thanksgiving beginning 5 pm Wednesday, November 27, 2024 and re-opening 8 am Monday, December 2, 2024. Telephone calls during this time will be routed to voicemail, and regular emails to individual team members, to PISA@Purdue.edu and to intlscholars@purdue.edu will not be responded to; we will respond to emails and voice messages upon our return to the office. NOTE: The International Scholar Services team CANNOT answer questions about OPT (Optional Practical Training) or about any action relating to Form I-20s. You MUST contact the International Student Services team at 765-494-5770. If you call with questions about OPT or I-20s, we will direct you to International Student Services and end the conversation.

Scholars can call any weekday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to talk with someone in our office.  If you want to talk to a PISA team member directly, call between the hours of 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm.

PISA focuses solely on supporting requests by Purdue for J, H-1B, E-3, TN, O-1 or Purdue-sponsored employment-based permanent residence.

Emergency Contact Number

International faculty, staff, postdocs and scholars who are currently at Purdue and who have an emergency situation, such as a lost or stolen passport, may call for assistance when the ISS office is not open for business.

Prospective or arriving international scholars may not use this number to inquire about the status of the issuance of a Form DS 2019 or Form I-797.

Please do not use the emergency phone number to inquire about travel signatures or lost or forgotten DS-2019.  Email your inquiry to intlscholars@purdue.edu and we will respond as soon as we return to the office.
