Host-A-Boiler is a program held over official Purdue breaks for international students who will be on the Purdue campus and would like to experience a holiday with a local singles and families. Pairing of students with families begins in November for Thanksgiving break and in December for winter break.
International Education Week (IEW)
International Education Week, or IEW, is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education celebrated annually the third week of November. This year from November 17-22, 2024, the Purdue community is invited to celebrate the benefits of study abroad in higher education by participating in activities and events organized by departments and student organizations across Purdue.
International Friendship Program (IFP)
IFP is a program that provides new international students and scholars the opportunity to be paired with local community hosts to learn about American culture, build lasting friendships and have community support while at Purdue.
IFP Newsletter, Bridging Borders
To help the IFP community keep current on ISS and local happenings, the IFP newsletter, Bridging Borders, is posted each semester. Read stories about IFP hosts and students and reports on IFP activities and events. Posts are meant to encourage participants in their friendships with one another and others in the IFP community.
International Parent Welcome (IPW)
IPW is a five-day program of sessions, events, tours, and a special reception for parents and guests accompanying their student to BGRi.
Launched in 2021, the ISS Blog page features reflections by an ISS staff member meant to create conversation around topics of interest to all Purdue students.

Martin C. Jischke Outstanding International Student Award
The Martin C. Jischke Outstanding International Student Award is presented annually at May commencement to a graduating Purdue international undergraduate student who exemplifies leadership, scholarship and service. Nominations are submitted in early spring of each year.
The Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, in partnership with the Office of International Students and Scholars, offers the One Community Grant to student organizations who wish to develop programs that will provide meaningful interactions between international and domestic students.
