Background

A preliminary immigration wage analysis must be completed to ensure that if the identified faculty candidate is international and needing immigration sponsorship, the offered wage meets with US government requirements for the sponsored immigration benefits. These imigration wage analyses are conducted within SuccessFactors for faculty hired as a result of formal searches. However, there are a wide range of circumstances when a faculty member might be hired outside of a formal search:

  • "DreamHires"
  • Dual Career hires
  • Visiting Faculty (in some situations)
  • Conversion of visiting appointments to clinical or other more formal appointments

Procedure

  • If there is no active Requisition processin SuccessFactors, then the department must
  • If the department has created a Requisition in SuccessFactors and that Requisition is still routing through approvals, then they must notify OIE that an immigration wage analysis is wanted. OIE will add ISS as an ad hoc approver toward the end of the review process. The immigration wage analysis will be added to the Requisition Comments. This situation is most applicable to Visiting Faculty.
