College of Science Post All Aboard Purdue Registration
Congratulations, You're a Purdue Student!
Welcome to the College of Science! We are excited to share the next four years with you learning about all the things you want to accomplish as you chart your course through Purdue. If you're wondering what this might look like, we are happy to share other students' successes with you. Please take a moment to consider their paths, experiences and goals and all the opportunities that Purdue and the College of Science will provide for you. We can't wait to see what you will do!
Your first course schedule
Fall 2024 schedules will be released in mid-July. Please watch your Purdue email for your notice. Once you have had a chance to review your courses, follow these recommendations.
- Discuss your schedule with your advisor if you did not get a critical course for your major or your registration is under 12 credits. Your advisor will review your schedule and provide course recommendations.
- If you are considering any schedule changes get your advisor's recommendation first to ensure your course schedule meets your degree requirements.
- If you have questions about Purdue's academic and non-academic resources, review the resource listed below or contact your advisor. Your advisor is your strongest ally in your success. Stay in touch!
- Contact your advisor to discuss changing a course that was an alternate to a major course. If space is available in the other course, your advisor will instruct you on how to change your schedule.
- Share non-academic questions with friends, family and other students. Contact your advisor for degree planning and course recommendations. Purdue is complex, and your path should be as unique as you are. A partnership with your advisor helps ensure you have the information and support to make the best decisions for your Purdue experience.
Viewing Your Fall 2024 Schedule of Classes
After receiving your schedule notice e-mail from the Registrar, you can view your schedule by following the instructions below:
-
Go to www.mypurdue.purdue.edu and log in.
-
Select the “ACADEMICS” tab on the side black ribbon and click My Courses.
-
Select “Week-At-A-Glance” to view your courses in a grid format. Choose 8/19/2024 to view your fall schedule.
-
This view will show your courses in a grid view for that week. Please note: you could have courses that have a section or component that does not meet every week. It is important to view both MY COURSES and the WEEK AT A GLANCE to see your entire fall registration. Select “Detail Schedule” to view your courses in a list format.
-
Advisors will be answering e-mails with immediate scheduling concerns after schedules are released. If you receive an out-of-office response from your advisor, send an email to scienceadvising@purdue.edu and another advisor will help you. Include your name, student PUID and reason for your email.
Changing your schedule
Be very careful when dropping a course, as the space you drop will be immediately available to other students. If a space in another course becomes unavailable, you could miss a required course in your first semester. The University is not obligated to provide you with another space in a course in this instance. Many courses are structured with lecture, laboratory, and recitation sections that are interconnected. For instance, CHM 11500 is a laboratory course with a lecture, lab, and recitation section. One section of a course represents the total credits, while the other sections show zero credits. Scheduling Assistant will present available options that link these sections together. This is why you can't select individual sections to fit your schedule.
You will use Scheduling Assistant to add and drop courses. You can make schedule changes starting July 22.
If you have discussed a schedule change with your advisor via e-mail, and have your advisor's recommendation, follow the directions below to change your schedule.
