Purdue Campus Transit - Safety
The safety of Purdue students, faculty and staff is top priority. SP+, provider of Purdue Campus Transit, is a nationally known transportation provider that takes driver training and passenger safety seriously.
The following safety measures are in place:
Drivers
- Each driver completes regular and frequent training for safety, on-time destination arrivals and customer satisfaction.
- All drivers are local residents who are familiar with Purdue.
- Drivers will always wear uniforms with logos, Purdue Campus Transit pins, ID badges and have their name posted at the front of the vehicle.
Ride Behavior
- Appropriate driver and rider behavior ensures rides are calm and safe for everyone.
- Riders who do not follow driver instructions may be reported to the university for further action.
- Riders should report unsafe or rude actions by any SP+ employee by calling 888-403-4304.
- Dash cams and real-time GPS tracking are installed in each vehicle via Samsara technology.
Stops
- Only approved, marked stops will be used to ensure safety and ADA accessibility.
- Look for posted signage and use designated locations when boarding or exiting.
