Spring Break Temporary Vehicle Storage

Vehicles that remain on campus for 24 hours or longer over spring break must be permitted and stored according to the directions provided below.

Enforcement

All campus parking locations will be enforced over spring break. Vehicles that are parked without a valid permit for 24 hours or longer will be subject to receiving a citation and may be impounded at the owner’s expense.

Faculty, staff or students who temporarily relocate their vehicles to another location over spring break should return them to their regularly assigned parking locations prior to 7 a.m. on Monday, March 18, 2024. Normal parking enforcement will resume at that time.

Storage Locations

Residence Hall Permit Holders

  • Residence hall permit holders may remain parked in a signed residence hall space, including those in the McCutcheon Drive Parking Garage, over spring break with no additional action or parking permit required.
  • If the McCutcheon Drive Parking Garage is full and storing a vehicle in a covered location over spring break is desired, request a temporary vehicle storage permit for the Wood Street Parking Garage only. Additional information is included below.
  • Note: MacArthur Drive between First and Third Streets and the Hillenbrand Residence Hall loading dock will close on March 11, and no parking will be available in those areas. Vehicles that are parked in these locations must be moved prior to March 11. Individuals may request a temporary vehicle storage permit for the Wood Street Parking Garage as an alternative.

Restricted Residence Hall Permit Holders

  • Restricted residence hall permit holders may park on the top level only of either the Wood Street or McCutcheon Drive Parking Garage over spring break with no additional action or parking permit required.
  • These individuals may also park in the east airport gravel lot with no additional parking permit required.
  • These permit holders may request a temporary vehicle storage permit for use on any level of the Wood Street Parking Garage if storing a vehicle in a covered location over spring break is desired. Additional information is below.

Hawkins Hall Permit Holders

  • Hawkins Hall permit holders may utilize the underground parking garage during breaks. No additional parking permit is required for these individuals.

University-Contracted Apartment Permit Holders

  • Students who reside in an apartment via a university-housing contract may continue to park in their building lot over spring break with no additional parking permit required. These students have the option of purchasing a temporary vehicle storage permit if they wish to leave their vehicle in a covered garage on campus during break. Additional information is below.

Others - Temporary Permit Available

  • Individuals without one of the parking permits listed above, including those who have a student garage permit, must request a temporary parking permit to store their vehicle on campus for 24 hours or longer beginning on or after March 8. See below for more information.
