Purdue to Host Weeks of Welcome
Purdue University will celebrate the beginning of the fall semester by highlighting student events and programming through October 14.
Known as “Purdue Weeks of Welcome,” the events will introduce students to the vibrant extracurricular experiences generations of Boilermakers have come to enjoy. This collaborative effort includes departments and areas from the division of Student Life and Teaching and Learning, as well as the expansive group of more than 1,000 registered student organizations.
Weeks of Welcome in West Lafayette kicks off with Purdue Student Activities & Organizations’ B-Involved Fair, scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 23 from 12 – 3 p.m. on Purdue Memorial Mall (rain date Aug. 24). The B-Involved Fair in Indianapolis will take place Wednesday, Aug. 27 from 3-6 p.m. in Boiler Park. The fairs are the premiere opportunity for students to learn about and connect with more than 1,000 student organizations on campus. Visit the Weeks of Welcome webpage, Boilerlink or download the Corq app to view other upcoming events.
Campus units and registered student organizations promoting events on social media during Weeks of Welcome are encouraged to use the hashtag #PurdueWOW to make events easily searchable for students. A web page has been created that will collect all posts using #PurdueWOW into a centralized space that can also be shared with students in campus-wide communication efforts.
