Waiver must be submitted and approved during the insurance open enrollment period for each semester:

ANY INTERNATIONAL STUDENT REGISTERED AS RESIDENTIAL, WHO HAS NOT PURCHASED THE STUDENT INSURANCE PLAN OR APPLIED FOR A WAIVER BY SEPTEMBER 2ND AT 5:00 P.M.:

• WILL HAVE A NON-REFUNDABLE LATE FEE OF $200.00 CHARGED TO THEIR BURSAR ACCOUNT.
• WILL HAVE THEIR REGISTRATION PLACED ON HOLD.

Open enrollment period for the fall semester begins the first day of July and ends at 5:00 pm ET on September 2, 2025.

Open enrollment period for the spring semester begins the first business day of December and ends at 5:00 pm ET on February 2, 2026.

Those international students who do not have an approved waiver on file by the deadline will:

• Be required to purchase the Purdue student insurance plan
• Incur a registration hold that prohibits enrollment in future classes
• Incur a $200 late fee
• Incur additional late fees if not approved by the time enrollment for the next semester begins
