Advisor Registrar Training

This training is intended primarily for incoming staff to familiarize them with the Banner Student System, myPurdue portal, and Registration workflow as it relates to their role as academic advisors. Contact Kearstynn G. or Carly B. at registrar@purdue.edu to arrange individual or group training.

myPurduePlan Training

MyPurduePlan training is intended for new undergraduate academic advisors and staff who assist advisors with undergraduate degree clearance. It may also be beneficial for experienced advisors needing a refresher or seeking a greater understanding of the tool. This training will cover the functionality of the myPurduePlan degree audit tool, as well as options and procedures for applying department-approved exceptions to students’ worksheets. Attendees will be granted Exceptions tab access after completing the training.

To maximize the benefit of the myPurduePlan training, it is strongly recommended that participants have some prior experience accessing and navigating the myPurduePlan degree audit tool and have a general understanding of the plans of study relevant to their role. Basic knowledge of University regulations and experience with other applicable tools and processes (i.e. Banner, myPurdue portal, the University Catalog, Curricula Change Request, etc.) is also helpful. To allow for the opportunity to acquire the skills and foundational knowledge to fully engage with the training, new employees are encouraged to register for a session that is at least one month after their start date.
