Scheduling FAQs
Q: I need specific software technology in an instructional computing lab or additional instructor resources. What should I do?
Please contact Theresa Morgan at 49-41597.
Q: Can I use any empty classroom?
No. You must reserve classrooms through this site. Persons using classrooms without scheduling will be asked to depart the room.
Q: What if there are not enough chairs or tables in the room?
You are required to request a larger classroom as soon as possible. Chairs and tables are set up based on the maximum capacity of the room. If chairs are missing, please contact Classroom Scheduling at 49-45700 or classroomsched@purdue.edu . Under no circumstances are you allowed to move any furniture to or from the academic classrooms.
Q: Can I have more chairs or tables added?
No. If the room is not large enough to fit your group, a larger room must be requested.
Q: Can the chairs and tables be moved around?
If the furniture is already free-standing, feel free to move the furniture based on your needs. You should not need to force or use tools to move any furniture meant to be movable. If you damage any of the room components while trying to move the furniture, you will be charged repair fees. Remember to return all furniture to its original configuration prior to your departure. Please do not remove furniture from any room.
Q: Can our group eat food or have a catered event in an academic classroom?
Academic classrooms do not have any restrictions in regards to catering. Our policy is that if you bring in food and drinks, please remember to clean up after your event is over. Also, you will be responsible for removing any food or trash from your event.
Q: Is there a charge for the use of the room?
If the request is academic in nature and occurs during normal business hours, there is no charge. Fees are required if the event is scheduled outside normal classroom hours, if clean-up is required, or if the room is not left in proper condition for the next event or class.
Q: Can our group remain in the room past closing time?
No. Late occupancy is not allowed as it disrupts the cleaning schedule of our custodial staff. If you remain in the room and it is not already scheduled for late access by our office, building staff will need to circle back for any cleaning needed as well as lock up. If you disrupt their cleaning schedule, you will be charged fees for any overtime needed by staff to complete their tasks.
Q: The heating/air conditioning is not working in the room, can this be fixed?
Please contact Classroom Scheduling at 49-45700 or classroomsched@purdue.edu . We will arrange for repairs to be made, as well as make any alternate arrangements for the room if needed.
