Student Innovation & Excellence Showcase

The First Year in Indianapolis

April 24, 2025 | Campus Center, Room 450 | 10:30-12pm & 1:30-3pm

Purdue's Student Innovation & Excellence Showcase is an opportunity for Purdue students at the Indianapolis location who are completing projects to showcase the scholarly work and creative endeavors they have been engaged in through poster presentations.

Any Purdue student in Indianapolis may present during this showcase. Non-Purdue students working with a Purdue-affiliated research program or mentor or Purdue students in the West Lafayette location should consider the Spring Undergraduate Research Conference.

Why should I participate in Purdue's Student Innovation & Excellence Showcase?

Being directly involved in the process of discovery and innovation is a great experience and provides many skills that will support your future success. Presenting your work on campus will prove invaluable in your efforts to present your work in the future at conferences and with potential employers and/or graduate school programs.

The Showcase is open to the public and greater Purdue community allowing for you to demonstrate what you have learned or created providing for a demonstratable way of reflecting on the work you have conducted.

Other Opportunities to Showcase Your Work

Communicating research through presentations and publications is an important part of the research process. Several options are available for Purdue students to showcase and publish their work including the Fall Expo, Spring Conference, the Undergraduate Research Pitch Competition, and the Summer Symposium. Several undergraduate research programs and academic units also have symposiums/poster sessions throughout the year.

For those students who are willing to invest more effort, the Journal of Purdue Undergraduate Research (JPUR) and the Purdue Journal of Service-Learning (PJSL) hold the option of experiencing the scholarly publishing process and its benefits. These multi-disciplinary open-access journals are available in print and online. The PJSL focuses on projects with strong service-learning and academic civic engagement aspects.
