Various seminars are available throughout the fall. Below are some opportunities for prospective and current undergraduate researchers.

Learn how to search and apply for undergraduate research opportunities at Purdue. This presentation will discuss the various types of research opportunities, how to find programs or potential mentors, and how to approach the application/email process. Register for this seminar.

Wed., Sept. 4 from 2-5pm via Discord - Undergraduate Research Roundtable
This event brings undergraduate research mentors and programs seeking applicants together with students seeking opportunities to learn more about available opportunities. This event is similar to a job/career fair with all colleges and schools invited.
Wed., Sept. 11 at 4pm - Marketing Yourself for Undergraduate Research
Learn how to describe yourself on your resumé/CV, within emails, in your interviews, during networking events, and on your online profiles that could help you locate research positions. Leverage the hard work you have put into your courses, experiences, and/or projects for a research position at Purdue or beyond. Register for this seminar.
Wed., Oct. 9 at 4pm - How to Write an Abstract and Apply to the Fall Expo
In preparation for the Fall Undergraduate Research Expo abstract submission deadline on Oct. 17, this seminar will discuss how to write an abstract with common components, how to submit it, and what to expect as a presenter at the event. This seminar is open to those who want to learn how to write an abstract, but may not be applying to the Symposium. Register for this seminar.
Wed., Oct. 30 at 4pm - Presenting Your Research: Posters
Novice and expert poster designers are invited to learn best practices in anticipation of the Fall Expo (or other conferences). If you are unable to attend, you can watch a previously recorded YouTube presentation. Register for this seminar.

The 2024 Fall Undergraduate Research Expo is an opportunity for Purdue undergraduate researchers to showcase the scholarly work and creative endeavors they have been engaged in through presentations. The Fall Expo will include posters, research talks, and virtual presentations. To present, submit your abstract by Oct. 17 at 11:59pm EST.
Tue., Dec. 3 at 4pm - Searching for Summer Undergraduate Research Experiences
Purdue students can apply to summer undergraduate research programs at Purdue and off-campus. Summer research programs can be a great time to expand your discipline knowledge full-time. This presentation will discuss how to search for summer research programs and how to apply for these opportunities. This presentation is delivered during the summer research application period. Wed., Dec. 4 at 4pm - Marketing Your Undergraduate Research Experiences
Conducting research and/or presenting your work develops many skills that you should market. You must highlight those skills, experiences, and results to leverage the hard work you have put into your project when applying for additional research projects, internships, graduate programs, and/or jobs. You will learn how to describe your work on projects on your resumé/CV, in your interviews, and during networking events. Register for this seminar.
