Purdue Undergraduate Research Program Matrix

The purposes of the Undergraduate Research (UR) Program Matrix are to:

  • Provide Purdue faculty, staff, and students with a single source summary of UR programs.
  • Give UR programs, administrators, and mentors broader and inclusive marketing to prospective student researchers.

Submit a UR Program

The UR Program Matrix Qualtrics survey link (PDF of questions to prepare responses) includes required and optional information to provide consistent information to faculty, staff, and students in West Lafayette and Indianapolis.

Programs should submit their information by the next deadline: October 4, 2024.

Updated matrices will include new programs or changed to previously included programs on a regular basis.

Are you a student?

Check out the Search Opportunities page for current information on UR programs or OURConnect for available projects.

Frequently Asked Questions

A program is available year-over-year to help individuals plan for upcoming opportunities or general deadlines. This matrix should include programs that meet the following criteria:
  • Has a structure with a larger programmatic or overarching goal.
  • Includes multiple undergraduate research students within the year.
  • CUREs can be included if there is iteration and scale.
  • Fits the definition of an undergraduate research experience.

If your program does not meet these criteria, you may have a project (see below) or contact ugresearch@purdue.edu to get clarification.

The OUR will coordinate an annual update schedule (and request new initiatives) with all programs listed in the matrix and contact each program at that time. If information should be updated between this schedule, program administrators should contact ugresearch@purdue.edu.
OURConnect is the Purdue undergraduate research portal for mentors to share available projects for students to apply to. Please consider including your project there for students to locate it.

The OUR is available for consultations with faculty and staff to assist at any stage of program and project development.
